The World Malayalee Council (WMC) Global Convention 2025, hosted in the vibrant heart of Dubai from November 12-14, 2025, brought together over 2,000 delegates from the Malayalee diaspora across 53 countries, marking a milestone in fostering international brotherhood and cultural resilience. Organized by the WMC Middle East Region—headquartered in Dubai and led by Global Secretary General Mr. C.U. Mathai—this three-day extravaganza at the iconic Dubai World Trade Centre celebrated Kerala's rich heritage while empowering the global community through dialogue, innovation, and collaboration. The event underscored WMC's mission since its founding in 1995, emphasizing non-sectarian unity and social capital augmentation for a sustainable future.
Day one kicked off with an electrifying inauguration featuring traditional Kathakali performances and a keynote address by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who highlighted the diaspora's pivotal role in Kerala's development. Attendees engaged in panel discussions on economic empowerment, moderated by prominent dignitaries including UAE's Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, and Indian Ambassador to UAE, H.E. Sunjay Sudhir. Evening sessions included youth forums on entrepreneurship and cultural workshops on Malayalam literature, drawing participation from over 500 young professionals. The day concluded with a grand Onam-inspired feast, blending Kerala spices with Emirati hospitality to symbolize cross-cultural resilience.
Subsequent days delved deeper into empowerment initiatives, with Day Two focusing on charitable drives—announcing scholarships for 200 underprivileged students and partnerships for disaster relief in Kerala—led by philanthropists like film icon Mammootty and business tycoon M.A. Yusuff Ali. Reputed figures such as WMC Global Chairman Isaac John Pattaniparambil and international speakers from the UN's migration desk addressed themes of diversity and excellence. Day Three wrapped with a business expo showcasing Malayalee startups, networking sessions for over 300 entrepreneurs, and a closing cultural gala featuring live Mohiniyattam and a unity pledge. This convention not only reinforced WMC's legacy as the largest ethnic network worldwide but also ignited actionable paths for the Malayalee community's global ascent.

The World Malayalee Council (WMC) is dedicated to nurturing a global fraternity of Malayalees and individuals of Kerala origin. Through its worldwide network, WMC strives to strengthen cultural identity, promote artistic and intellectual heritage, support community development, and build lasting connections across continents. Committed to unity, service, and cultural pride, the Council continues to uphold the values and legacy of Kerala on the global stage.
