On 12 October 2025, World Malayalee Council proudly inaugurated regular boat transport services for the families of Valanathakkad Island, ending years of difficult and uncertain travel across the water. The new service brings reliable, safe, and affordable connectivity to schoolchildren, patients, and daily commuters of this remote island community.

In the presence of WMC Global President Mr. Babu Stephen, General Secretary and senior council members, the inaugural boat was flagged off amid cheers from residents and local panchayat leaders. This initiative is the result of months of coordination between WMC, the Valanathakkad Grama Panchayat, and local boat operators, reflecting our commitment to reach even the most isolated Malayalee families.

With this launch, children can now reach school on time, elders can access healthcare without hardship, and the island’s residents feel more connected than ever to the mainland and to the larger Malayalee family. A small boat, but a giant step toward inclusion and care.
